About Avon Equipment Leasing, Inc.

Avon Equipment Leasing, Inc. (AEL) was incorporated in August, 1984 by James M. Weeks, Jr., with the intent of leasing automobiles, trucks and other equipment. After having spent twelve years as President of a closely held vehicle leasing company in Lakeland, Florida, yet a minority stockholder, Jim decided to start a leasing company of his own.

The major emphasis during the first two years in business was placed on vehicle leasing. As AEL’s portfolio of vehicle leases increased and a profit center became firmly established, AEL’s expansion into equipment leasing began. Because of our wide and varied base of lessees, the effect was a phenomenal influx of offers and inquiries involving equipment leasing -- this activity stretched from “end users” to brokers and vendors.

In time, AEL was able to attract people that have become key players in the vehicle and equipment leasing industry. J.J. Weeks, V.P., came to AEL from another leasing company, has earned the coveted C.V.L.E. designation and today oversees sales and other administrative tasks. AEL's sales and administrative personnel have come from the leasing, finance and banking industries.

As a member of the National Vehicle Leasing Association (NVLA) as well as both the United Association of Equipment Lessors (UAEL) and the National Association of Equipment Leasing Brokers (NAELB) we remain constantly aware of changes in tax laws and economic conditions that may affect our industry. This insures that our portfolio of over 850 vehicle and equipment lessees is properly managed by our Staff. AEL has been a member of both the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Council of Polk County since 1985.
